How did you get started with bodybuilding?

I’ve always been into team sports, but after having my second child I decided I needed to do something just for me. I started with some Body Pump and Body Attack classes, and saw what a difference it made to my fitness and body composition. I enjoyed the gym so much that I eventually ended up talking to a trainer who persuaded me to pursue the bodybuilding side of things.

Where does your motivation come from?

My motivation comes from all the amazing people in my life. Not only my two wonderful kids but also those who achieve great successes, who are living their dreams, and the ones who get back up every time life knocks them down. Overcoming adversity is enough to motivate anyone! My motivation also comes from knowing that by taking small steps with consistent effort, I can achieve those goals that I never thought were possible.

What workout routine has worked best for you?

Day 1: Legs, Glutes & Hamstrings

Day 2: Back & Biceps

Day 3: Legs, Glutes & Hamstrings

4: Shoulders & Triceps

Day 3: Legs, Glutes & Hamstrings

Day 6: Plyometrics

I also throw in abdominal and cardiovascular training when needed.

If you had 1 tip for someone who wanted to get into bodybuilding, what would it be?

Be consistent, small daily improvements are the key to extraordinary long-lasting achievements. Don’t wait until you reach your goal to be proud of yourself, be proud of every step you take to reach that goal.

What are your three favourite exercises and why?

Deadlifts – Any type. Nothing I love more than lifting heavy things! Great exercise working all over the body.

Hip Thrusts – Best glute builder.

Swiss-ball Hamstring Curls – Feel. That. Burn.

What is your diet like when you’re getting ready for a show?

Meal 1: Oats, Scitec Vanilla Protein, Blueberries, Cashews

Meal 2: Chicken, Sweet Potato, Greens, Flaxseed Oil

Meal 3: Turkey, Pumpkin, Greens, Almonds, Flaxseed Oil

Meal 4: Steak, Sweet Potato, Greens, Flaxseed Oil

Meal 5: Chicken, Avocado, Green Salad

Post Workout: Scitec Chocolate Protein

What are your hobbies and interests outside of the gym?

Anything food! Cooking, eating, sharing, entertaining etc. Bush walking, bike riding and exploring with my kids.
